Alot of hype had already built up weeks before the game was released, thanks to their breath-taking trailer. And finding BLOODMASQUE as the top featured app, I had little doubts while grabbing the game. But now that I am a few hours into the game, I am having serious doubts.

The game revolves around a ‘Vampires vs Humans war‘ that took place during the renaissance period. We play the role of a half-vampire soldier who has sworn to eradicate the evil vampire clan.

Now to things we really care about! The gameplay involves choosing missions from the map and chasing down the blood sucking villains. This thread along with the unique graphics subconsciously remind us of the Assassin’s Creed console game. Once you’re face to face with the devil, we indulge in the familiar ‘hack and slash‘ fights. The battles remind us of Infinity Blade or rather Horn, with the ability to circle the enemy.

With stunning graphics, unique moves for each vampire, special attacks and dynamic manoeuvres, each fight is a heart stealer. Also like in any other RPG, we can upgrade armours, weapons, power ups etc and call in two comrades as well. Pretty simple controls and the ability to add your mugshot for the face are definitely a plus.

So far so good. But things are far from over.

Vampire Hunters 2 Hack Mac

The worst thing about the game is that you need to be connected to the internet to play this game. So if you’re on aeroplane mode or in a no-wifi zone, this game is just 1GB of junk on your iPad. Also I cannot believe that most of the conversations donot have voice over. They are just written speeches and for 7 bucks, I deserve better!

Vampire

Though the fights are fun at first, it becomes repetitive and predictable soon enough. Even after bearing with all these, we’re thrown into an in-app store. According to our standards, it is a money drainer.

To conclude, BLOODMASQUE is a mixed bag. Though a unique concept made great by the Unreal Engine, it is not worth the price you put in. Especially with those in-app purchases, I would wait for it to drop the tag.
